Ingredients

Scale

Meat and Cheese

  • 1 pound Ground Beef
  • 1 pound Sausage
  • 6 ounces Pepperoni
  • 2 cups Mozzarella Cheese
  • 1/2 cup Parmesan Cheese

Other Ingredients

  • 1 cup Pizza Sauce
  • 1 package Pie Dough
  • 1 tablespoon Olive Oil
  • Salt, to taste
  • Black Pepper, to taste
  • Garlic Powder, to taste
  • Italian Seasoning, to taste
  • Fresh Parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the crust: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Allow the store-bought pie dough to soften for about 10 minutes. Then, press it into a deep-dish pie pan and prick the bottom with a fork to prevent bubbling. Pre-bake the crust for 10 minutes until it’s lightly golden.
  2. Cook the meat mixture: In a large skillet, heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil over medium heat. Add the ground beef and sausage. Season with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and Italian seasoning. Sauté the mixture until the meat is browned and cooked through, about 7–10 minutes.
  3. Assemble the pie: Spread a thin layer of pizza sauce evenly over the pre-baked crust. Sprinkle a layer of mozzarella cheese on top of the sauce. Next, distribute the cooked meat mixture evenly over the cheese. Spoon another layer of pizza sauce on top of the meat, followed by more mozzarella cheese. Scatter the pepperoni slices over the top and sprinkle with Parmesan cheese for a flavorful crust.
  4. Bake the pie: Place the assembled pie into the oven and bake for 25–30 minutes until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown.
  5. Cool and serve: Remove the pie from the oven and allow it to cool for 5–10 minutes. Garnish with fresh parsley if desired. Slice and serve warm for maximum comfort.

Notes

  • This savory pie is great for meal prep and stores well in the refrigerator for several days.
  • Reheat slices in the oven or air fryer to restore crispiness.
  • Substitute ground turkey for a lighter version of the meat mixture.
  • For a milder flavor, use turkey pepperoni or omit pepperoni altogether.
  • If preferred, bake homemade pie dough for a personalized touch to the crust.
  • Use provolone or cheddar cheese in place of mozzarella for different flavor profiles.
