Ingredients

Scale

For the Ground Beef Stir-Fry

  • 1/2 pound ground beef
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon chili flakes (adjust to taste)
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon brown sugar

For the Veggies

  • 1 cup broccoli florets
  • 1/2 red bell pepper, sliced into strips
  • 1/2 zucchini, sliced
  • 1/2 cup mushrooms, sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon soy sauce

For the Base

  • 1 cup steamed white rice

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Ground Beef: In a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat, add the sesame oil and minced garlic. Sauté briefly until fragrant, about 30 seconds. Add the ground beef and cook, breaking it apart with a spatula until browned and cooked through, around 5-7 minutes.
  2. Season the Beef: Stir in the soy sauce, brown sugar, and chili flakes. Mix thoroughly and cook for another 2 minutes to allow the flavors to meld together. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
  3. Cook the Vegetables: In the same skillet, add olive oil and minced garlic. Sauté the garlic for about 30 seconds until aromatic. Add broccoli florets, sliced red bell pepper, zucchini slices, and mushrooms. Stir-fry for 4-5 minutes until the vegetables are tender-crisp.
  4. Add Veggie Seasoning: Pour in the soy sauce over the vegetables and toss to coat evenly. Cook for another minute.
  5. Combine and Serve: Return the cooked ground beef to the skillet with the veggies and stir everything together briefly over heat to combine flavors. Serve the beef and veggie stir-fry over a hot bowl of steamed white rice.

Notes

  • Adjust chili flakes according to your preferred spice level.
  • For a gluten-free option, substitute soy sauce with tamari or coconut aminos.
  • Use brown rice or cauliflower rice for a healthier base alternative.
  • Make sure not to overcrowd the pan when stir-frying to achieve proper texture and doneness.
  • Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
