Ingredients
- 8 hot dogs (1 package)
- 8 ounces refrigerated crescent roll dough (preferably sheets)
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) to ensure it reaches the right temperature for baking the mummy dogs evenly.
- Prepare Crescent Dough: Unroll the crescent roll dough onto a clean surface. If using sheets, separate into strips about 1/4 inch wide so they can be wrapped around the hot dogs easily.
- Wrap Hot Dogs: Take one hot dog and begin wrapping the dough strips around it in a spiral pattern, leaving gaps here and there to mimic mummy bandages. Repeat this process for all 8 hot dogs.
- Bake Mummy Dogs: Place the wrapped hot dogs on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or lightly greased. Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the crescent dough is golden brown and cooked through.
- Cool and Serve: Allow the mummy dogs to cool for a few minutes before serving. Optionally, add small dots of mustard or ketchup as “eyes” to complete the mummy look.
Notes
- If crescent roll sheets are unavailable, unroll traditional crescent dough and cut into strips.
- For gluten-free options, substitute crescent dough with gluten-free dough if available.
- Add cheese strips inside the dough before wrapping for a cheesy twist.
- Serve with ketchup, mustard, or your favorite dipping sauces.
- Watch the baking time closely to avoid over-browning.
