Fruits
- 1 cup sliced strawberries
- 1 cup chopped peaches
- 1 cup sliced orange halves
Liquids & Sweeteners
- ¼ cup granulated sugar
- ¼ cup Triple Sec or other orange liqueur
- 750 ml Riesling (or other semi-dry white wine)
- 2 cups lemon lime soda
- Prepare the fruit: Wash and slice the strawberries, peaches, and oranges into bite-sized pieces. Place them into a large pitcher.
- Add sugar and liqueur: Sprinkle the granulated sugar over the fruit, then pour in the Triple Sec or your chosen orange liqueur. Gently stir to begin dissolving the sugar and infusing the fruit.
- Pour the wine: Add the entire bottle of Riesling or another semi-dry white wine to the pitcher. Stir well to combine all ingredients.
- Chill the sangria: Refrigerate the mixture for at least 1 to 2 hours, allowing the flavors to meld and the sugar to fully dissolve.
- Add soda before serving: Just before serving, gently stir in 2 cups of lemon-lime soda to add a refreshing fizz to the sangria.
- Serve and enjoy: Pour the sangria into glasses, including some fruit pieces, and serve chilled over ice if preferred.
Notes
- Use lemon-lime soda just before serving to keep the drink fizzy.
- For a less sweet version, reduce the sugar or use diet soda in place of regular lemon-lime soda.
- Substitute peaches with nectarines or mango for a different flavor profile.
- Allowing the sangria to soak overnight enhances the flavor but adding soda right before serving is key to maintaining carbonation.
