  • 1 1/2 cups warm water 110°F/45°C
  • 2 1/4 tsp active dry yeast
  • 2 tbsp granulated sugar
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 tbsp salt

For the Topping:

  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Dough: In a bowl, mix water, yeast, and sugar. Let it sit for 5 minutes. Add flour, butter, and salt. Knead until smooth. Cover and let rise for 1 hour.
  2. Shape the Breadsticks: Divide dough into sticks. Place on a baking sheet. Cover and let rise for 30 minutes.
  3. Bake: Brush with melted butter and sprinkle with garlic powder and salt. Bake at 400°F/200°C for 12-15 minutes.

Notes

  • You can adjust the amount of garlic powder and salt in the topping to suit your taste.
  • For a cheesy version, sprinkle grated Parmesan on top before baking.
