Fresh Produce
- 1 large English cucumber, peeled and cut into thirds
- 1 cup mint leaves, loosely packed
- 1 cup / 240 ml fresh lemon juice (juice from about 6 lemons)
Liquids
- 1 cup / 240 ml water
- 1/2 cup / 120 ml maple syrup or honey*
- 3 cups / 720 ml sparkling water
- Prepare Ingredients: Peel the English cucumber and cut it into thirds to ensure it blends easily. Wash the mint leaves and loosely pack about one cup.
- Blend Base: In a blender, combine the cucumber pieces, mint leaves, fresh lemon juice, water, and maple syrup or honey. Blend until smooth and all ingredients are thoroughly combined.
- Strain Mixture: Pour the blended mixture through a fine mesh sieve into a pitcher to remove pulp and mint bits, resulting in a smooth lemonade base.
- Add Sparkling Water: Slowly pour in the sparkling water to the strained juice and gently stir to combine, creating a fizzy lemonade.
- Serve: Pour the Mint Cucumber Lemonade over ice in glasses. Garnish with a sprig of mint or a cucumber slice if desired. Enjoy immediately for best freshness and effervescence.
Notes
- You can substitute honey for maple syrup if preferred.
- Adjust sweetness by varying the amount of syrup or honey according to taste.
- For a still version, omit the sparkling water and add additional chilled water instead.
- This lemonade is best served fresh but can be refrigerated for up to 24 hours.
