Ingredients

Scale

Main Ingredients

  • 1 box Little Debbie Christmas Tree Cakes (5 cakes)
  • 8 ounces white chocolate or candy melts
  • 3 tablespoons festive sprinkles
  • 3 tablespoons red candy melts (optional, for drizzling)
  • Green sanding sugar (for decoration)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Cake Base: Remove the Christmas Tree Cakes from their packaging and place them in a large mixing bowl. Crumble the cakes thoroughly with your hands or a fork until you have fine cake crumbs.
  2. Melt the White Chocolate: In a microwave-safe bowl, heat the white chocolate or candy melts in 20-second intervals, stirring after each, until smooth and fully melted. Be careful not to overheat to prevent burning.
  3. Form the Truffles: Using your hands, roll the cake crumbs into small, bite-sized balls, approximately 1 inch in diameter. Place them on a parchment-lined baking sheet and chill in the refrigerator for about 15 minutes to firm up.
  4. Coat the Truffles: Using a fork or dipping tool, dip each chilled cake ball into the melted white chocolate, ensuring it is fully coated. Let excess chocolate drip off, then place them back onto the parchment paper.
  5. Add Decorations: While the coating is still wet, sprinkle festive sprinkles and green sanding sugar over the truffles for a holiday look. If using, melt the red candy melts similarly to white chocolate and drizzle lightly over the coated truffles for extra color and flair.
  6. Set and Serve: Allow the truffles to set at room temperature or refrigerate for about 30 minutes until the chocolate hardens completely. Once set, serve immediately or store in an airtight container in the refrigerator until ready to enjoy.

Notes

  • You can substitute white chocolate with any candy melts color of your choice for a different look.
  • Make sure the cake balls are firm and cold before dipping to prevent them from falling apart.
  • If you don’t have festive sprinkles, crushed peppermint candies or colored sugar can be used.
  • Store truffles in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to one week.
