Kashmiri Pink Chai (Noon Tea)

Enjoy a warm and comforting cup of Kashmiri Pink Chai, a traditional Himalayan tea blend with a unique pink hue. This recipe combines the flavors of green tea, spices, milk, and a touch of sweetness.

Main Ingredients:

  • 4 cups Water
  • 2 tbsp Kashmiri/Himalayan green tea or other green tea
  • 1/2 tsp Baking soda
  • 12 Star anise
  • 2 Cardamom pods crushed
  • 1 Cinnamon stick
  • 1/4 tsp Salt
  • 2 cups Whole milk
  • Sugar or honey to taste
  • Crushed nuts (e.g. almonds) for garnish optional

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Tea: In a pot, bring water, green tea, baking soda, star anise, cardamom, cinnamon, and salt to a boil. Simmer for 5 minutes.
  2. Add Milk: Pour in the milk and simmer for an additional 5 minutes.
  3. Sweeten: Add sugar or honey to taste.
  4. Strain and Serve: Strain the tea into cups, garnish with crushed nuts if desired, and enjoy!

Notes

  • You can adjust the sweetness by adding more or less sugar/honey.
  • Feel free to experiment with different types of nuts for garnishing.
