For the Casserole:
- 1 lb ground beef
- 4–5 medium potatoes, thinly sliced
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- ½ cup beef broth
- ¼ cup milk (optional)
For the Seasoning & Cheese:
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- ½ tsp paprika
- Salt & pepper, to taste
- 1 ½ cups shredded cheddar cheese
- ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
- Fresh parsley, for garnish
- Preheat the oven: Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Brown the beef: In a skillet, cook the ground beef until browned. Drain excess fat.
- Saute onions and garlic: Add olive oil, onions, and garlic to the skillet. Cook until softened.
- Layer the casserole: In a baking dish, layer half of the potatoes, beef mixture, and cheeses. Repeat with the remaining ingredients.
- Bake: Pour beef broth and milk over the casserole. Cover with foil and bake for about 45 minutes. Remove foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes until bubbly and golden.
- Serve: Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.
