- 500g beef (e.g. stew beef or beef shank), cut into cubes
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 onions, diced
- 2 bell peppers, diced
- 2 carrots, sliced
- 3 garlic cloves, finely chopped
- 1 tablespoon paprika powder (smoked or sweet, depending on preference)
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin (optional)
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme
- 500 ml beef broth
- 200 ml tomato paste or crushed tomatoes
- 400g gnocchi (fresh or from the refrigerated section)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1–2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
- A pinch of chili flakes (optional)
- Prepare the Ingredients: Cut the beef, dice the onions and peppers, slice the carrots, and chop the garlic.
- Cook the Goulash: Sear the beef, then sauté the onions, peppers, carrots, and garlic. Add spices, broth, and tomatoes, simmer until beef is tender.
- Add Gnocchi: Stir in the gnocchi and cook until tender.
- Serve: Garnish with parsley and chili flakes before serving.
Notes
- You can customize the spice level by adjusting the amount of chili flakes and paprika.
- For a thicker consistency, you can add a slurry of cornstarch and water towards the end of cooking.
