Main Ingredients:
- 2 (14 ounce) cans tomato sauce
- 2 (15 ounce) cans kidney beans, rinsed and drained
- 4 tablespoons chili powder, divided
- 2 tablespoons white sugar, divided
- 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper, divided (Optional)
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 teaspoon cooking oil
Additional Ingredients:
- ½ red onion, chopped
- 1 banana pepper, chopped
- 1 apple – peeled, cored, and chopped
- 1 peach – peeled, pitted, and chopped
- Brown Ground Beef: In a large pot, heat cooking oil over medium heat. Add ground beef and cook until browned.
- Add Ingredients: Stir in onion, banana pepper, apple, peach, tomato sauce, kidney beans, 3 tablespoons chili powder, 1 tablespoon sugar, and cayenne pepper.
- Simmer: Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for about 20-30 minutes.
- Adjust Seasoning: Taste and adjust seasoning with remaining chili powder and sugar as needed.
