For the Mushrooms:
- 1 lb button or cremini mushrooms, sliced
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup cornmeal (optional, for extra crunch)
- 2 large eggs
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- Vegetable oil, for frying
For the Ranch Dressing:
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon dried dill
- 1 teaspoon parsley
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1–2 tablespoons milk (to adjust consistency)
- Prepare the Mushrooms: In a bowl, mix flour, cornmeal, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper. In another bowl, whisk eggs and milk. Dip mushroom slices in egg mixture, then coat in flour mixture.
- Fry the Mushrooms: Heat oil in a pan and fry coated mushrooms until golden brown and crispy. Drain on paper towels.
- Make the Ranch Dressing: In a bowl, mix mayonnaise, sour cream, garlic powder, onion powder, dill, parsley, salt, pepper, and milk until smooth.
- Serve: Serve fried mushrooms with ranch dressing on the side.
Notes
- Cornmeal is optional but adds extra crunch to the fried mushrooms.
