This Easy Traditional Red Sangria recipe combines fresh fruit and a mix of vibrant juices with Spanish brandy and red wine for a refreshing, classic Spanish drink that’s perfect for parties and gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale

Fruit

  • 3 Apples, cored and thinly sliced
  • 3 Lemons, thinly sliced
  • 3 Oranges, thinly sliced

Liquids

  • 1 cup Spanish brandy
  • 1 cup apple juice
  • 1 cup lemonade
  • 1 cup orange juice
  • 3 cups red wine

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Fruit: Wash and thinly slice the apples, lemons, and oranges. Remove any seeds if necessary to avoid bitterness.
  2. Mix Liquids and Fruit: In a large pitcher or bowl, combine the sliced fruits with the Spanish brandy, apple juice, lemonade, orange juice, and red wine.
  3. Stir and Chill: Stir the mixture well to blend all the flavors. Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, preferably overnight, to allow the fruit to infuse the sangria with their flavors.
  4. Serve: Stir again before serving. Serve the sangria chilled over ice, optionally garnished with extra fruit slices.

Notes

  • For best flavor, let the sangria chill and infuse overnight.
  • You can adjust the amount of brandy or juice depending on your taste preference.
  • Use a fruity dry red wine like Tempranillo or Garnacha for authentic Spanish flavor.
  • Add a splash of soda water or lemon-lime soda before serving for some fizz.
