Ingredients

Scale

Crust

  • 1/2 cup butter, melted
  • 1 1/2 cups graham cracker crumbs
  • 1/2 tsp salt

Toppings

  • 1 cup coconut flakes
  • 14 oz (1 can) sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 cup chocolate chips, divided
  • 1 cup holiday M&M’s

Instructions

  1. Prepare the crust: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). In a bowl, mix the melted butter, graham cracker crumbs, and salt until the mixture resembles wet sand. Press this mixture evenly into the bottom of a greased 9×13 inch baking pan to form the crust.
  2. Add the coconut layer: Sprinkle the coconut flakes evenly over the prepared graham cracker crust, ensuring good coverage for a chewy texture in the bars.
  3. Pour condensed milk: Pour the entire can of sweetened condensed milk evenly over the coconut layer, which will bind the toppings to the crust and add sweetness.
  4. Add chocolate chips and M&M’s: Sprinkle half of the chocolate chips evenly over the condensed milk layer. Then, spread the holiday M&M’s evenly on top. Finally, sprinkle the remaining chocolate chips on top to create a festive and chocolaty topping.
  5. Bake the bars: Place the pan in the preheated oven and bake for 25 to 30 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and the center is set but still slightly soft.
  6. Cool and cut: Remove the bars from the oven and allow them to cool completely in the pan set on a wire rack. Once cooled, cut into squares and serve.

Notes

  • Use a greased pan or line it with parchment paper for easy removal of bars.
  • You can substitute regular chocolate chips with semi-sweet or dark chocolate based on preference.
  • Store the bars in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days or refrigerate for longer freshness.
  • Feel free to customize the topping by adding nuts or dried fruit as desired.
