A deliciously gooey and flavorful Cheesy Garlic Sourdough Grilled Cheese sandwich that combines garlic-infused butter, parmesan, and a blend of provolone, sharp cheddar, and gouda cheeses grilled to golden perfection on sourdough bread.

Ingredients

Scale

Garlic Butter Spread

  • 4 Tablespoons unsalted butter, room temperature
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • ¼ cup parmesan cheese, thinly shredded or grated

Sandwich Components

  • 24 slices provolone cheese
  • 24 slices sharp cheddar cheese
  • 24 slices gouda cheese
  • 4 slices large sourdough bread

Instructions

  1. Prepare Garlic Butter: In a small bowl, mix the room temperature unsalted butter with the minced garlic until fully combined to create a flavorful garlic butter spread.
  2. Butter and Cheese the Bread: Heat a flat skillet over medium heat on the stove. Spread the garlic butter mixture evenly on one side of each slice of sourdough bread. Then, evenly divide the parmesan cheese and press it gently into the buttered side of each bread slice.
  3. Assemble and Cook Sandwich: Place two bread slices buttered side down on the hot skillet. Layer 1-2 slices each of provolone, sharp cheddar, and gouda cheeses on top of the bread. Cover with the remaining slices of bread, buttered side facing up. Cook for about 3-4 minutes until the bottom is golden brown and cheese starts melting, then carefully flip the sandwiches. Continue cooking until the other side is golden brown and the cheese is fully melted.
  4. Serve: Remove from skillet and serve immediately for the best taste and texture.
