Blood Orange Tequila Fizz
- 3 ounces freshly squeezed blood orange juice
- 2 ounces gold tequila
- 2 ounces ginger ale or ginger beer
- 1 ounce lime simple syrup
Lime Simple Syrup
- 1/3 cup freshly squeezed lime juice
- 1/3 cup sugar
- Make the Lime Simple Syrup: In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine the freshly squeezed lime juice and sugar. Stir continuously until the sugar is fully dissolved. Remove from heat and allow the syrup to cool completely.
- Mix the Cocktail: In a cocktail shaker, combine the freshly squeezed blood orange juice, gold tequila, and 1 ounce of the prepared lime simple syrup. Add ice and shake vigorously until well chilled.
- Assemble the Drink: Strain the mixture into a glass filled with fresh ice. Top with 2 ounces of ginger ale or ginger beer to add a fizzy, spicy note to the cocktail.
- Garnish and Serve: Optionally, garnish with a wedge of blood orange or lime for an extra burst of color and aroma. Serve immediately for the best bubbly experience.
Notes
- You can substitute ginger ale for ginger beer for a less spicy fizz.
- Adjust the amount of lime simple syrup based on your preferred sweetness level.
- Ensure the lime simple syrup is cooled before using to avoid diluting the drink.
- This cocktail is ideal served chilled and best enjoyed fresh.
