Ingredients

Scale

For the Big Mac Sauce

  • 3 tbsp mayonnaise
  • 3 tbsp ketchup
  • 1 tsp apple cider vinegar or white wine vinegar
  • ½ tsp Tabasco or your favourite hot sauce
  • 2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp mustard

For Serving

  • 1 iceberg lettuce leaf, finely sliced
  • 2 tbsp finely chopped dill pickles

For the Big Mac Tacos

  • 200 g ground beef (10% fat)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 4 small flour tortillas
  • Vegetable oil for cooking
  • 8 slices of American cheese or American cheddar

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Big Mac Sauce: In a small bowl, combine mayonnaise, ketchup, apple cider vinegar, Tabasco, Worcestershire sauce, and mustard. Mix thoroughly until smooth and set aside to let the flavors meld.
  2. Prepare the beef patties: Divide the ground beef into 4 equal portions. Season each portion with salt and pepper. Using your hands or a spatula, smash each portion into thin, round patties slightly larger than your tortillas to accommodate shrinkage during cooking.
  3. Cook the beef patties: Heat a skillet or frying pan over medium-high heat and add a small amount of vegetable oil to coat the surface. Place the patties in the pan and cook for about 2-3 minutes on the first side until they develop a crispy brown crust. Flip the patties and immediately place 2 slices of American cheese on each to melt while the other side cooks for another 1-2 minutes.
  4. Warm the tortillas: Lightly warm the flour tortillas in a dry pan or in the microwave until soft and pliable.
  5. Assemble the tacos: Place one cheesy beef patty on each warm tortilla. Add a small amount of the finely sliced iceberg lettuce and sprinkle with chopped dill pickles. Drizzle a generous spoonful of the prepared Big Mac sauce over the top.
  6. Serve immediately: Fold the tortillas around the filling and serve the Big Mac Tacos hot for the best flavor and texture experience.

Notes

  • You can customize the hot sauce quantity in the Big Mac sauce to suit your spice preference.
  • Using fresh dill pickles finely chopped adds the authentic tangy crunch reminiscent of a Big Mac.
  • If you prefer a gluten-free option, substitute the flour tortillas with corn tortillas or gluten-free tortillas.
  • To ensure patties cook evenly, do not overcrowd the pan and avoid pressing down on them while cooking.
