Main Ingredients:
- 2 lbs beef chuck roast or beef stew meat (cut into 2-inch chunks)
- 2 onions diced
- 4 carrots julienned
- 1/2 cup canola oil
- 3 cups Jasmine Rice rinsed
- 4 cups water
- 1 head garlic sliced crosswise
Spices:
- 1 tsp ground coriander
- 1 tsp ground cumin
- 2 tsp Lawrys Seasoned Salt
- 1 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp paprika
- Prepare the Ingredients: Cut the beef, onions, carrots, and garlic as specified. Rinse the rice.
- Sear the Beef: Heat oil in a Dutch oven, add beef, and brown on all sides. Remove the beef and set aside.
- Saute Vegetables: In the same pot, saute onions, carrots, and garlic until softened.
- Add Spices and Rice: Stir in the spices and rice until fragrant. Return the beef to the pot.
- Cook: Pour water over the ingredients, cover, and simmer for about 30 minutes or until the rice and beef are cooked through.
- Fluff and Serve: Fluff the rice with a fork before serving hot.
